Akai MPC 2000

Akai MPC samplers are one of the best samplers around. They've been manufactured since the late 80's and have evolved through the years. During the 90's, my band actually used the Akai 3000 when we recorded our demo. We were having problems with our drummer so we just went on to record the demo using the Akai MPC 3000 sampler.

Find custom sounds for samplers and Akai MPC.

When we recorded our demo with the Akai MPC 3000 sampler, I was very impressed by the sounds it generated. This was the time when audio software products were not yet available to the masses and were only used by big, expensive recording studios. Akai MPC samplers weren't very cheap either but they were used in many small studios.

We wanted the drums not to sound too electronic and sampled and I was surprised at the raw-sounding drum samples that the Akai MPC 3000 sampler had. We were able to find a good acoustic-sounding drum sample and it worked very well with our rock demo. I was hesitant to use samplers for our songs at first but the Akai 3000 changed my attitude towards samplers.

Nowadays, a lot of sampling is done with a pc or mac since audio software samplers are already available to the masses. It would seem that traditional samplers like the Akai MPC samplers would just vanish into obsolescence. But these samplers evolved with time. They now have incorporated many of today's technology and I'm glad Akai MPC samplers are still around because they're simply one of the best.
