Akai MPC 6 samplers are great for the live shows that the band and I put on. In the thirty plus years that I've been performing not only has music changed but so has the tools we use to make it. 1988 brought us the first Akai MPC. It sure has gotten better as it's evolved in to what it is today.
We use the Akai MPC to add sounds that a small town band can't quite find for our alternative style. There is some where around 128 sounds in memory. It's easy to put them together for a basic beat even before you read the booklet that comes with the unit. You know how you have to play around with it a bit when you first get a new peice.
The sound that comes from what you save and put in is clean and clear. There isn't static in it at all. That is very important for both the recording and live shows.
We expanded the memory on our unit but other wise we have gotten a lot of use from it. It's made to sample so we do. Look into other products by Akai because they add to the experience. |
